WHAT IS LANGUAGE

According to Chomsky, language is the " inherent capability of the native speakers to understand and form grammatical sentences. A language is a set of sentences, each lenght and constructed out of a finite set of elements."

Also the Encyclopedia Britannica, define language as a "system of convencional or written symbols by means of which human beings as members of social groups and participants in its culture, communicate. Thus, we can say, language is a system of communication or arbitrary vocal sounds by means of which human beings communicate and interract with each other in their everyday life."

Approximately 6500 languages ​​are spoken in the world, each influenced by different social and cultural groups.

I consider in my humble opinion that language is very important. It is the vehicular element that does not serve to communicate and start a conversation with other people. In my case I consider myself a multilingual person since I have the ability to speak more than one language and fluently. I can speak my mother tongue, which is Darilla, Spanish, English and Portuguese. Now I will explain roughly, where I have begun to speak and to develop myself in the different languages ​​that I mentioned. As for darilla, it is my mother tongue and born with it. I have talked to her since I was a child and I have been lucky enough to start talking to her since I was a child since both my parents and my closest environment spoke Darilla. Some consider that Darilla is not a language but a dialect but in my opinion I think it is a language since it has served me as an essential element to be able to communicate with my environment, that is, with my family friends etc. As Chomsky said, language is the inert ability of a native speaker to understand sentences. In this way I consider that Darilla is a language. As for Spanish, it is a language that from a very young age has cost me to speak it. Today I start thinking because I had difficulties in learning Spanish and in understanding the reasons, but I don't understand it. In my stage of early childhood education and primary education, I had many difficulties in being able to speak Spanish and specifically with the subject of Spanish. According to the teachers I had at school, the influence of darilla was the cause for which I had many difficulties with Castelllano. In my opinion, I believe that learning languages ​​cannot be an inconvenience at any time, but a virtue, since as it appears in many studies carried out by linguists, the acquisition of more than one language greatly influences the teaching and learning process.

As for English, it is a language that I learned from a very young age. Because I studied in a bilingual school such as Federico García Lorca. Always had the ability to speak and understand. In my opinion I believe that all schools today should be bilingual since in a globalized world, such as where we find learning more than one language as important as English would open doors, for many students as it favors At all times your teaching and learning process. I think English is a very important language. Personally it helped me to achieve the objectives set. With 16 years I was able to go to Great Britain on vacation and be able to get along without problems, understand what they were saying and be able to communicate satisfactorily. Academically, being able to study in a school and in a bilingual institute I have been able to successfully pass my academic training. In the second year of the career, you can do an Erasmus in Portugal. English as we have said is a globalized language and many people in the world speak it for what is a language that helps us to communicate with anyone. Personally, I was very pleased to be able to communicate and develop easily with people from other countries and from other cultures. And finally, as for Portuguese, it is the last language acquired. And it is true that my level of Portuguese is still low but my intention is to learn it in the very near future. Since it is a language with a lot of history. Obviously it is related that all my linguistic background has influenced in choosing to mention the foreign language and in the future being an English teacher. I think I can do a lot teaching English and make many children lose that fear for the English language and hold on to it as another instrument to develop intellectually.
